Supporting Lancaster City FC via the Dolly Blues Club and playing the NYCDA Weekly Draw is a great way to help the club's on field and off field activities.
About Lancaster City
Lancaster Town FC was established after meetings in Lancaster in May and July 1911, driven by John McGregor. The club joined the Lancashire Combination for the 1911/12 season. Lancaster was granted city status in 1937, renaming the club to Lancaster City.
Notable former players for the club include Stan Mortensen who ended his illustrious career with the Dolly Blues. Manchester City legend Joe Hayes was Lancaster City manager in the 1960s. More recently former football league players including David Norris, Josh Earl and Jack Armer have all featured at the Giant Axe.
We have won the Lancashire Combination four times, the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy seven times, with the last time coming in 2021 and since 2017 we have been playing in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. Last season we achieved our highest league position in almost 20 years.
We have also been growing our work in the local area through Dollies in the Community where we have invite local schools and football teams down to be guests and mascots at home games and re-launched Lancaster City Ladies and in 2024 launched a military veterans side.

Where do the proceeds go?
Building on our historic lottery related offers, the club has developed its partnership with NYCDA and refreshed this as we look to grow the Dolly Blues Club together. The proceeds from the Dolly Blues Club will go towards our vision of Lancaster City Football Club being a community Football Club and being the club a city of our stature deserves and respects.
Specifically, proceeds will go towards our current Dollies in the Community initiatives. This will see us continue to invite Junior football sides and schools from the local area to the Giant Axe to watch the Dolly Blues and give children across Lancaster the opportunity to be mascots and walk out with the team. It will also fund any future initiatives as well. It will enable us to create more activity books which we hand out to local schools across the region.
This partnership will also contribute to the general running costs of the Giant Axe, giving our band of volunteers the ability to maintain our Football ground, meaning we will be able to host more matches from our Ladies and Veterans.
Giving our Football a community feel is paramount to the future of our club. Below is a snapshot of some of the fantastic activities you are supporting and the positive impact it can have.
