Supporting Melanoma UK via the '1804 Campaign' playing the NYCDA Weekly Draw is a great way to help the charity's ongoing nationwide education and awareness activities.
About Melanoma UK

Melanoma UK is a national skin cancer charity focused on prevention, education and early diagnosis. There are around 18,300 new melanoma skin cancer cases in the UK every year and around 2,500 deaths; that's 7 every day. With the right knowledge and habits, 80-90% of skin cancers could be prevented.
The 1804 Campaign is named after the year melanoma was first described in medical literature. It marks the beginning of understanding this cancer. Today it represents Melanoma UK's commitment to turn knowledge into action, helping people protect their skin, recognise changes early and seek help quickly.
Funds raised through the NYCDA Weekly Draw help us deliver public awareness campaigns, provide sun safety resources for schools and workplaces, support outdoor workers with practical UV guidance, and work with health professionals on early detection initiatives. Your support also helps us contribute to research projects at the University of Manchester and the University of Birmingham, strengthening national understanding of melanoma and improving the future of prevention and diagnosis.

Every time you play...
When you enter the NYCDA Weekly Draw through the 1804 Campaign you are doing two things at once. You give yourself the chance to win cash prizes and you help Melanoma UK fund work that protects people from skin cancer.
£1,000s in cash prizes every week
You could win a max of £10,000 via the Rollover prize whilst supporting Melanoma UK's aims and objectives.
Why everyone's a winner
The great thing about our partnership with the NYCDA Weekly Draw is that not only do you get the chance to win cash every week, the partnership allows Melanoma UK to raise £1,000s each year to help it grow and support our nationwide programme of work.
Every time you play you support our commitment to help raise awareness of the signs, symptoms and dangers of Melanoma.
Where do the proceeds go?
All proceeds from the 1804 Campaign partnership between NYCDA and Melanoma UK are used to support prevention, education and early detection projects across the UK.
Regular lottery income helps us deliver national UV awareness work, create practical sun safety resources for schools and colleges, share guidance with outdoor workers, and support community outreach encouraging people to check their skin and seek help early.
Your support also contributes to research that improves future prevention and diagnosis.
Current projects include:
- Funding research at the University of Manchester, exploring new ways to understand melanoma and the factors that influence risk.
- Supporting research underway at the University of Birmingham, helping to advance scientific understanding and improve the pathway to early diagnosis.
These projects help ensure more people receive the right guidance at the right time, and they strengthen national efforts to reduce melanoma rates in the long term.
Lottery proceeds also help us explore early detection initiatives in high-risk areas, such as developing plans for mole mapping and skin surveillance services in coastal and high-incidence communities.
Alongside this work, your support helps us campaign for improved sun protection policies in schools and workplaces, clearer SPF information, and wider access to prevention and early diagnosis across the UK.
Every ticket bought helps Melanoma UK reach more people with clear, evidence-based information and reduce the impact of melanoma for families now and in the future.
