Supporting Castleford Tigers and 'Project 26' by playing the NYCDA Weekly Draw, is a great way to help the club's ongoing youth player development and community engagement programmes across Castleford.
About Castleford Tigers

The Castleford Tigers are a forward thinking rugby league club steeped in history, with origins in the 1920s, at the very centre of its local community. After various friendly fixtures in its early years, the club became officially affiliated with the league in 1926, and just nine years later won the Challenge Cup at the original Wembley Stadium, shocking five-time winners Huddersfield.
The 1960s brought the next wave of success, with the club earning the nickname 'Classy Cas' due to an exciting brand of rugby - and the decade culminated in another Challenge Cup victory against Salford in 1969, before retaining the trophy a year later with a win over Wigan.
The 1986 Challenge Cup win is the latest, with a win over Hull KR living long in the memory of Castleford supporters, while the 1994 Regal Trophy win over Wigan is seen by many as the best performance the club has ever had.
However, the greatest overall season the club has had arguably came in 2017, where after setting Super League alight, Cas took the club's first League Leaders' Shield win with ease.
The start of Super League in the 90s meant the club added the 'Tigers' moniker to its name, but Castleford remain at Wheldon Road to this day and punch above the town of 45,000's weight, up there with some of the biggest names in the sport.
As we look to the future, with many new partnerships like this one with NYCDA and the NYCDA Weekly Draw, 2026 is shaping up to be a very exciting Centenary year at The OneBore Stadium.

Where do the proceeds go?
The money generated by our 'Project 26' partnership with the NYCDA Weekly Draw will go towards our Pathway system of youth teams, as well as our community initiatives through the Castleford Tigers Foundation.
Our Pathway system has developed fantastic players over the years, with current players Joe Westerman, Fletcher Rooney, Jason Qareqare and Jenson Windley the latest in a line of stars that has included Daryl Clark, Greg Eden, Danny Orr and Michael Shenton in recent years.
Previously, Castleford also produced legends such as Arthur Atkinson, Bob and Kevin Beardmore, John Joyner and Alan Hardisty - with too many other stars to mention them all! We hope that Project 26 can help the next generation of Castleford legends fulfil their potential as well.
The Foundation, runners-up in the RFL's Foundation of the Year award in 2025, aims to connect the Club to the community it serves. This is done, amongst other things, by promoting activities that enhance social welfare and inclusion for families, individuals and people of all ages; facilitating improvements in health and social cohesion through active participation in sport and leisure activities; and consistently advancing education opportunities for all residents by working with a wide range of partners and projects.
It currently works with over 10,000 people and partners with a number of schools, colleges and institutions - using the power of sport and the Castleford Tigers to reduce inequality in some of the local area's most deprived communities, where people are facing significant challenges. Launched for 2026, to celebrate the centenary of our birth in 1926, by playing the NYCDA Weekly Draw, your support of Project 26 will help to fund this aim.
Please see below a snapshot of some of the great activities you are supporting, which enable us to continue to preserve our rich history, flourish right now and bring on a great future.
