Supporting Skelmersdale United FC and adding to the 'Floating Fund' by playing the NYCDA Weekly Draw, is a great way to help the clubs ongoing costs, its community projects and our ambition to return to Skelmersdale to play.
Skelmersdale United FC

Skelmersdale United boasts a rich and captivating history that stretches back an impressive 143 years! It is through partnerships like this initiative with NYCDA that we look to preserve this history.
The club rose to prominence in the late '60s, carving out its reputation in amateur football by clinching the Amateur FA Cup in 1971 and the prestigious Amateur European Cup in the same year - an extraordinary double achievement!
With this newfound success, Skem leapt into the semi-professional ranks within the Northern Premier League, a hotbed of competition featuring notable teams like Boston United, Macclesfield Town, Morecambe, Scarborough, and Wigan Athletic.
Over the years, Skelmersdale United has accumulated impressive accolades, firmly establishing itself as a formidable name in non-league football. They've reached the FA Cup 1st Round proper not just once, but four times - a testament to their competitive spirit and resilience. Moreover, the club has been a nurturing ground for talent, producing stars who have dazzled on larger stages.
The club's legacy is rich from Steve Heighway's remarkable career at Liverpool to Micky Burns lighting up the pitch for Blackpool and Newcastle United. More recently, players like Craig Noone, Sean McConville, and Georgie Donnelly have made their marks in higher tiers of football. At the same time, even World Cup medal winner Pascal Chimbonda took on roles as both player and manager for Skem.
There's so much more to come from this club, with plenty of fascinating tales yet to be told!
The story doesn't end here!

Why everyone's a winner
The great thing about our partnership with the NYCDA Weekly Draw is that not only do you get the chance to win cash every week, the partnership allows the club to raise 10s of £1,000s each year to help it grow our community offer and support our player development goals.

Every time you play you support our commitment to help develop our beneficiary partner's community development programmes and associated activities.
Where do the proceeds go?
The club is facing financial challenges and seeking community support through a lottery initiative. Our partnership with NYCDA has seen us develop the 'Floating Fund' and this is a little more information on what proceeds raised will go on to support.
As we focus on our plans to return to Skelmersdale, we still need to cover essential expenses such as ground rental, kits, training facilities, and administrative costs in the interim. Our goal is to hit the ground running upon our return, and initiatives like this weekly draw partnership are vital in helping us achieve that.
Currently, we require £30,000 each season to maintain operations. To truly thrive as a club, we must secure additional funding beyond what we receive from gate revenue, sponsorships, and community goodwill. We invite supporters, referred to as the "twelfth man," to join us in overcoming these financial hurdles. Your assistance is crucial for our success.
