About Blackpool FC

With a long and proud history at the centre of the local community, the club are focused on further enhancing its local presence and reputation. The accolades stretch back long into the 20th century, with the club famously winning the FA Cup in 1953 in the one of the best-known finals in history known as the Matthews Final - beating Bolton 4-3. Impressively, Stanley Matthews was the first winner of the Ballon D'Or award in 1956 whilst he was at Blackpool.

Further back, the Club has played in its iconic colour of Tangerine since 1923, celebrating 100 years last year. It is the combination of this famous colour and milestone that has seen the birth of the 'Tangerine 53' partnership as part of our revitalised lottery related offer to fans.

Under the guidance of Ian Holloway, the Club reached the Premier League in 2010, defeating Cardiff City 3-2 at Wembley Stadium in the Play-Off Final. Blackpool holds the record for being the most successful team in play-off history, winning promotion six times via the play-offs, the last being in 2021 - more than any other team in English football. It is this success that the club is building towards more of and is excited for the future.

Alongside the Club, Blackpool FC Community Trust work tirelessly throughout Blackpool with numerous community initiatives and programmes designed to help as many people as possible in one of the most deprived areas of the country.

Why everyone's a winner

The great thing about our partnership with the NYCDA Weekly Draw is that not only do you get the chance to win cash every week, the partnership allows the club to raise 10s of £1,000s each year to help it grow our community offer and support our player development goals.

Every time you play you support our commitment to help develop our beneficiary partner's community development programmes and associated activities.

Where do the proceeds go?

All proceeds from the 'Tangerine 53' partnership between the Seasiders and NYCDA will go towards supporting the development of future first team stars of the future via our Academy. Whether that is forging a career at Bloomfield Road or progressing on to success across the footballing world, this partnership will support the club's quest to source the next Rob Apter, Dom Telford and Bright Osayi-Samuel.

In terms of our Academy, this has grown considerably over recent years as the club dedicates more and more resources. The Club continues to work category two status under the guidance of Academy Director Ciaran Donnelly, and strives to mould homegrown Blackpool-based players to one day make the leap into the first-team. The likes of Rob Apter is a prime example of this and becoming a member of 'Tangerine 53' is a way of supporting us to develop the relevant infrastructure.
